Management Accountant

Location: Birmingham - office based
Salary: Competitive

We're looking for a commercially minded Management Accountant to join our growing finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional to play a key role in delivering financial insight, supporting strategic decision-making, and driving business performance.

Working closely with the Financial Controller, Directors and operational teams, you'll be responsible for producing accurate management information, supporting budgeting, and forecasting, and identifying opportunities to improve profitability and financial processes.

What you'll be doing

  • Prepare monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reporting.
  • Deliver insightful variance analysis and performance reporting.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning.
  • Partner with managers across the business to provide financial guidance and commercial insight.
  • Analyse costs, profitability, and operational performance to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Maintain strong financial controls and support month-end, year-end, and audit processes.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of finance systems and reporting processes.

About you

You'll be a proactive and analytical finance professional with strong communication skills and the confidence to work with stakeholders across the business.

You'll ideally have:

  • Part-qualified, finalist or qualified ACCA, CIMA, or ACA status.
  • Experience in a Management Accountant or similar role.
  • Strong budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting experience.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience using ERP/accounting systems (such as Sage, SAP or similar).
  • Excellent analytical, organisational and stakeholder management skills.
  • A commercial mindset with a passion for improving business performance.
