Management Accountant

Malaberg

Malaberg is a UK-based brand house building and scaling direct-to-consumer beauty and wellness brands. As a vertically integrated business, we manage every step of the product lifecycle—from idea and manufacturing to customer service and digital performance. Our portfolio includes fast-growing brands across the UK and US.

We’re looking for a curious, analytical, and ambitious Management Accountant to join our Finance function and play a key role in our day-to-day finance operations in the London office. This is a hands-on role supporting the company’s financial operations and monthly reporting processes.

You’ll work across multiple brands and business units, gaining exposure to manufacturing, call centre and e-commerce in a fast-paced, growing company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing monthly management accounts (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow).
  • Support consolidated group reporting across multiple entities.
  • Maintain accurate records of accruals, prepayments, and fixed assets.
  • Get hands-on experience with all parts of the reporting process — from stock and payroll to journals and balance sheet reconciliations including Intercompany.
  • Be tasked with improving accuracy and processes along with supporting with our scaling efforts.
  • Gain a firm understanding of the drivers of our P&L and utilise that to support decision-making across the business.
  • Prepare detailed breakdowns and summaries for ad-hoc reporting requests to meet the needs of finance leadership.
  • Support the Finance team with key projects and other ad-hoc tasks– for example: Audits, VAT returns and international expansion readiness.

Experience (Essential)

  • 2–4 years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
  • Part-qualified or actively studying ACCA / CIMA / ACA.
  • Strong working knowledge of financial reporting and reconciliations.
  • Proficient with Excel or Google Sheets and accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks).
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical mindset, and proactive attitude.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team.
  • Energised by working closely with founders and building something from the ground up.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in DTC, FMCG, or a manufacturing environment
  • Exposure to cost accounting, inventory, or multi-entity reporting.
  • Able to demonstrate agility and sound judgment when balancing multiple urgent priorities and adapting to evolving demands.
