Job Title: Management Accountant

Summary
This commercial position is a key role in the Finance department but also the surrounding business. As a Management Accountant, your responsibilities will include overseeing end-to-end finance operations, financial planning and analysis, balance sheet reconciliations, looking to make improvements to procedures and controls, as well as ad-hoc projects and requests as and when they come up.
Responsibilities
- Act as a key liaison between the Finance team and non-finance departments, ensuring effective communication and the timely resolution of queries and issues.
- Drive the continuous improvement of end-to-end accounting processes and practices.
- Prepare and post monthly accruals, prepayments, and other journal entries.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records.
- Prepare monthly management accounts to support informed business decision-making.
- Post and reconcile corporate credit card transactions.
- Maintain the fixed asset register, ensuring accurate recording of asset additions, disposals, depreciation, and periodic reconciliations.
- Manage the end-to-end external audit process and liaise with auditors to ensure a smooth and timely completion.
- Provide financial insight and advice on the implications of business decisions.
- Develop, maintain, and improve financial systems, controls, and policies.
- Monitor, control, and forecast expenditure, ensuring spending remains aligned with approved budgets.
- Proactively identify financial and operational risks, recommending and implementing appropriate solutions where necessary.
- Provide commercial and financial guidance to improve business performance and support operational decision-making.
- Present and communicate financial information clearly and effectively to non-financial stakeholders.
- Manage working capital and prepare detailed cash flow forecasts to support liquidity planning.
- Other duties as reasonably required.

Requirements
- University degree or equivalent professional qualification.
- Knowledge of accounting practices.
- Knowledge of accounting terms and concepts.
- Experience of AP and AR.
- Solid communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Relationship & people management ability, networking & creative problem solving.
- Professionalism and integrity are essential.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Proven ability of working to a high standard while multi-tasking.
- Attention to detail, with an ability to spot numerical errors.
- Great knowledge of MS Office Suite, particularly excel and excel functions.
- Ability to follow and implement company policies, processes, and procedures.
- Critical and strategic thinking skills are key, and these professionals should be highly organised in their approach.
- A solid commercial awareness is required, as is the ability to liaise and influence at a senior level.
- Understanding of finance regulations and legislation.
