Management Accountant – Hybrid Role, Warrington/Remote

Location: Hybrid (Warrington office + remote) Contract Type: Permanent


About the Role

The Management Accountant is responsible for providing accurate financial information, analysis, and insight to support operational and strategic decision-making. The role focuses on:

  • Budgeting
  • Forecasting
  • Cost control
  • Performance reporting

Ensuring the business operates efficiently and achieves its financial objectives.


Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly management accounts, including:
    • Profit & Loss (P&L)
    • Balance sheet
    • Cash flow analysis
  • Analyse variances against budgets and forecasts, providing clear explanations
  • Deliver month-end activities in line with:
    • Timetable standards
    • Task lists
    • Journal approval processes
  • Prepare month-end numbers by:
    • Gaining deep knowledge of the SYNC business system
    • Understanding Goods Receipts and Accrued Income postings
  • Collaborate with RSIS commercial and FP&A functions to ensure clear financial reporting and analysis
  • Support senior management with ad hoc financial analysis and reporting
  • Monitor costs and identify areas for efficiency improvement
  • Analyse cost drivers and support cost reduction initiatives
  • Assist in maintaining balance sheet integrity by:
    • Preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations
    • Directing the clearance of aged balances
    • Managing month-end close processes
  • Support audit processes (internal and external) and resolve findings
  • Drive continuous improvement in finance processes and reporting tools

Requirements

  • Accountancy qualification:
    • Part-qualified or fully qualified (CIMA, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent)
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills
  • Experience in:
    • Budgeting
    • Forecasting
    • Financial reporting
  • Strong systems knowledge:
    • ERP platforms
    • Planning tools
    • Excel/Power BI
  • Proficiency in Excel (advanced level)
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Commercial awareness and problem-solving mindset
