This is a fantastic opportunity for a technically strong accountant who enjoys getting under the skin of the numbers, challenging assumptions, and taking ownership of key balance sheet areas.
The Role
You'll be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, with a particular focus on balance sheet control, accruals, reconciliations, and financial analysis. Working closely with stakeholders across the business, you'll investigate queries, identify trends and anomalies, and provide meaningful insight to support decision-making.
You'll also play a key role in year-end activities, technical accounting matters, and a variety of finance projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Ownership of key balance sheet areas and reconciliations.
- Review and challenge accruals to ensure accuracy and robustness.
- Prepare monthly reporting and provide insightful variance analysis.
- Investigate discrepancies, resolve issues, and identify root causes.
- Act as a finance contact for stakeholder queries and requests.
- Support the preparation of statutory accounts and year-end reporting.
- Assist with technical accounting matters and audit requirements.
- Contribute to finance projects, process improvements, and change initiatives.
- Ensure strong financial controls and governance are maintained.

About You
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
- Strong balance sheet and reconciliation experience.
- Experience within management, financial, or statutory accounting.
- A naturally inquisitive and investigative mindset.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to spot inconsistencies.
- Confident communicator with strong stakeholder management skills.
- Comfortable working independently whilst managing multiple priorities.
