- Friday: 8:00am – 2:00pm
- Occasionally, additional hours may be required to meet business needs.

Lester Cladding is one of the UK’s leading roofing and cladding contractors, delivering nationwide projects across commercial and industrial sectors. Alongside our established contracting businesses, we operate a specialist supply business and a recently launched fabrication company.

As our business grows, we’re expanding our Finance team—right now, it consists of just 2 Accounts Administrators and our Finance Director. This new Management Accountant / Finance Manager position will play a key role in supporting finance functions across the entire Group of Companies, offering you genuine responsibility, variety, and an opportunity to make an immediate impact.
The Role
We are seeking a Management Accountant / Finance Manager to assume a central position in the daily financial management of our Multi-Company Group, reporting directly to the Finance Director.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing and enhancing financial reporting
- Ensuring accurate financial controls
- Supporting statutory compliance
- Delivering hands-on administrative and analytical work across multiple enterprises

Key Responsibilities
Management Accounts & Reporting
- Prepare monthly financials, including profit & loss reports
- Create journals and manage intercompany transactions
- Maintain fixed asset registers
- Assist with year-end accounts preparation
- Generate ad hoc financial reports and analyses as required
Banking & Cash Management
- Reconcile bank transactions
- Conduct regular bank reconciliations
- Process supplier, subcontractor, and payroll payments
- Maintain accurate cash records across multiple bank accounts
Tax & Compliance
- Prepare & process VAT returns
- Handle HMRC payments (PAYE, Construction Industry Scheme (CIS), and VAT collections)
- Manage reverse VAT and CIS accounting, resolving related queries
- Assist with corporation tax reporting for external accountants
- Prepare audit and statutory accounts documentation
- Maintain Companies House records and annual confirmation statements
Sales/Purchase Ledger Support
- Issue contract sales invoices as needed
- Monitor outstanding debtors and receipts
- Support credit control processes
- Assist with purchase ledger duties
- Process intercompany recharges and reconciliations
Payroll Support
- Assist with monthly payroll processing
- Lodge pension submissions
- Work with new starters, leavers, and administrative payroll tasks
Finance Administration
- Maintain Sage records and nominal ledgers
- Oversee Accurate financial records across multiple group entities
- Drive continuous improvement in finance processes
- Provide general support to the Finance Director and team
About You
We are seeking a detail-oriented, proactive professional with the following qualifications and experience:

- Eligible qualifications:
- AAT qualified
- Candidates studying for ACCA or CIMA
- Qualified by experience
- Industry & software expertise:
- Preferable: Construction industry experience, particularly with reverse VAT & CIS accounting
- **Confident using Sage 50 Accounts
- Technical and organisational skills:
- Strong Excel proficiency
- Demonstrated organisation and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritise multiple tasks across several companies
- Independent problem-solving and task ownership
- While not mandatory, any background in construction finance would be advantageous.

Recruitment Process
This role is being managed directly by our Finance Director, who will review all applications and conduct interviews themselves.
- Advert remains live until: Friday 31st July 2025
- Note on holiday period: The Finance Director will be on annual leave from 13th to 25th July – applications will be reviewed on her return (w/e 27th July and w/e 3rd August).
- Anticipated interviews: The week commencing 10th August
- Potential start date: To be agreed, accounting for the successful candidate’s notice period
This role is a pivotal appointment for our business. Our Finance Director currently spans all finance functions—from routine management accounting to payroll and strategic audits, leaving this position fully formed to dedicate to a long-term commitments.
