Tredz is looking for a Management Accountant who enjoys turning data into insight and supporting smarter business decisions. This is a great opportunity for a part-qualified or newly qualified accountant to build on their experience in a dynamic, commercially focused environment.
In this role, you’ll be hands-on in the preparation of management accounts, month-end processes, and financial analysis, while supporting operational teams with clear, actionable insight. Working closely with the Finance Manager, you’ll play an important part in maintaining strong financial control and helping the business understand and improve performance.

Job Purpose
The Management Accountant plays a key role in supporting the delivery of accurate and timely financial information, contributing to month-end processes, financial reporting, and analysis that supports effective decision-making across the business.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the role focuses on the preparation and delivery of core management accounting activities, maintaining strong financial control, and providing insightful analysis to operational teams. The role also supports continuous improvement across finance processes and systems.
Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Month-End
- Support the preparation and completion of the monthly management accounts, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and completeness.
- Prepare and post journals including accruals, prepayments, and adjustments.
- Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving variances.
- Assist in the preparation of P&L, balance sheet, and cashflow reporting.
- Ensure supporting documentation is maintained for audit and review purposes.

Financial Control & Compliance
- Assist in maintaining a strong financial control environment, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.
- Support audit processes by preparing requested information and responding to queries.
- Assist with statutory reporting requirements and compliance activities as required.
- Support transactional teams where needed to ensure accuracy in underlying financial data.
- Ensure adherence to accounting standards, tax requirements, and statutory obligations.

Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis
- Support the preparation of budgets and forecasts, working with budget holders to gather inputs.
- Produce variance analysis and commentary, identifying key drivers of performance.
- Assist in tracking and monitoring financial performance against budgets and forecasts.
- Use data analysis to highlight trends, risks, and opportunities.

Business Partnering & Stakeholder Support
- Act as a finance contact for operational teams, providing support on financial queries.
- Translate financial data into clear, understandable information for non-finance stakeholders.
- Support the Finance Manager in delivering insight to aid operational decision-making.
- Build strong working relationships across departments.

Cashflow & Operational Finance Support
- Assist with cashflow reporting and monitoring.
- Support payment runs and banking processes where required.
- Contribute to the accuracy of working capital reporting, including stock, debtors, and creditors.

Process & Systems Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and control within finance processes.
- Work closely with the Finance Manager and IT development team to support finance system enhancements and process automation.
- Help embed best practice and consistent ways of working across the finance function.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
Essential
- Part-qualified or newly qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
- Experience in a management accounting or finance role.
- Strong understanding of core accounting principles (accruals, prepayments, reconciliations).
- Good analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong Excel skills and ability to work with financial data.
- Well organised, with the ability to manage deadlines and competing priorities.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain financial information clearly.

Desirable
- Experience in retail, e-commerce, distribution, or an operations-led environment.
- Strong working knowledge of the Sage 200 accounting system, using it effectively for day-to-day processing, reporting, and financial control.
- Experience or exposure to payroll processing, with an understanding of basic payroll procedures and controls.
