Management Accountant

Bradford | Full Time | Study Support Available

Are you a part-qualified accountant looking to join a successful, growing manufacturing business where you can genuinely make an impact?

We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established and financially secure manufacturing and distribution business that is undergoing an exciting period of transformation. With ambitious growth plans, significant investment in systems, and a collaborative finance team, this is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career within a commercially focused environment.

Reporting into the Finance Director and working within a close-knit finance team, you'll play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, supporting business decisions, and helping drive improvements across finance processes.

This is an exciting time to join, with the business implementing a new ERP system, giving you the opportunity to be involved in systems development, reporting enhancements, and process improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate monthly management accounts with meaningful analysis and commentary.
  • Complete balance sheet reconciliations and maintain the integrity of financial records.
  • Support multiple group entities, ensuring consistent financial reporting and compliance.
  • Assist with year-end audit preparation and liaise with external auditors.
  • Support VAT returns, corporation tax processes and wider statutory compliance.
  • Produce product costing information and support costing activities.
  • Process staff expenses.
  • Contribute to finance improvement projects and provide ad hoc analysis when required.
  • Play an active role in the implementation of a new ERP system and the development of financial reporting and analytics.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
