About CGD

Making Sustainable Power Electronics Possible

A spin-out of Cambridge University, Cambridge GaN Devices (CGD) is a fabless semiconductor company developing energy-efficient GaN-based power devices to drive greener electronics.

The global power semiconductor market exceeds $50BN. With investments from founders, seed funds, and Series A and B capital—and support from grants (including iUK, BEIS, and EU’s Penta), CGD leverages decades of power electronics expertise to deliver proprietary solutions poised for early market traction.

Bringing Innovation into Everyday Life

We address pressing environmental challenges—energy consumption and CO₂ emissions—by creating energy-efficient power solutions for sustainable electronics. Our team of global experts, drawing on deep IP and research, pushes the boundaries of GaN technology to enable greener devices, respect natural resources, and secure a sustainable future.

Why Work for CGD

At CGD, we foster a culture of commitment, empowerment, and innovation—curated for change-makers passionate about power semiconductors and the green transition. Our relaxed yet high-impact environment values collaboration, professional growth, and all employees as vital contributors to success.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
