Finance Business Partner (Commercial Finance) – Second Nature

About the Role

We’re a venture-backed health-tech business on a mission to empower people to take control of their health. As we grow aggressively, we’re building out our finance function and seeking a commercially driven Finance professional to shape its future direction.

Reporting to the Finance Lead, you’ll take ownership of day-to-day finance operations and provide support across the business. Your role requires close collaboration—especially with our rapidly expanding B2B team, whose ambitions are as bold as our trust is in them.

This is a small but impactful team, where autonomy means you’ll directly shape processes and outcomes, unshackled by bureaucracy. You’ll thrive on innovation, gaining broad exposure as the business scales and enhancing decision-making with data-driven rigor.

Responsibilities

Your role balances operational reliability with strategic growth, ensuring financial performance aligns with Second Nature’s mission. Key priorities include:

  • Day-to-day finance operations
    • Maintain accuracy, timeliness, and robust controls across finance systems.
  • Forecasting and compliance
    • Lead the month-end close, including balance sheet reconciliations, revenue recognition, and management accounts.
    • Partner with the B2B team—a core growth driver—to ensure timely payments, no revenue leakage, and detailed contract-level reporting.
  • Analysis and reporting
    • Deliver monthly updates and ad hoc commercial insights, such as variance analysis and performance deep-dives, to support decision making.
    • Support budgeting, forecasting, and FP&A, collaborating with the Finance Lead to refine financial planning.
  • Audit and accounting governance
    • Act as the primary internal contact for annual audits, ensuring alignment and smooth execution.
  • Process optimisation
    • Continuously improve finance workflows, metrics, and controls for a scalable, efficient function.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
