Vero Recruitment has been exclusively appointed to recruit a Management Accountant for a growing, investor-backed energy business in Aberdeen.

The role
Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, the Management Accountant will play an important role within the finance function, supporting high-quality financial reporting, commercial analysis, financial planning and governance activities.
This is a broad, commercially focused position offering significant exposure across the finance function. The successful candidate will work closely with senior stakeholders, supporting business decision-making, improving processes and contributing to strategic initiatives as the organisation continues to evolve.

The role would suit an ambitious qualified accountant looking to move beyond traditional management accounting responsibilities and develop towards a future finance leadership position.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparation of monthly management accounts, including variance analysis, cash flow reporting and insightful commentary for senior management.
- Supporting month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Managing relationships with outsourced finance providers to ensure the effective delivery of finance activities.
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting and reforecasting processes, working closely with budget holders across the business.
- Providing financial analysis and decision support to senior leadership.
- Supporting shareholder, lender and investor reporting requirements.
- Coordinating external audit activities and supporting statutory reporting requirements.
- Supporting treasury activities, including cash flow forecasting and financing arrangements.
- Identifying opportunities to improve financial processes, controls and reporting capabilities.
Who are we looking for?
You will be a qualified accountant (CA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent), ideally with experience gained within professional practice or a commercial finance environment. Suits applicants from newly qualified level.

Equally important will be your ability to communicate effectively, build relationships and provide commercial insight beyond the numbers.
The successful candidate will be proactive and comfortable operating within a dynamic environment where they can take ownership, influence outcomes and make a genuine impact.
Experience within the energy sector, capital-intensive industries, or a growing organisation would be advantageous, although the key requirement is the ambition and capability to develop into a broader commercial finance role.
