Management Accountant (MAT COVER)
Job title: Management Accountant
Contract: 12-month Contract (Maternity Cover)
Location: Hybrid Working / Support Office Central London (5 minutes from Oxford Circus)
The Big Table Group is home to over 200 restaurants across iconic brands including Las Iguanas, Bella Italia, Amalfi, Frankie & Benny’s, Banana Tree and more.
We’re on the lookout for a Management Accountant to join our collaborative, fast-paced finance team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of a critical area of the P&L, working across a diverse portfolio while adding real value through insight, control, and continuous improvement.
About you
You take ownership and set the standard in everything you do. You bring honesty and transparency, paired with strong attention to detail and a proactive, can-do mindset. You communicate clearly and confidently, building trust with both finance and non-finance stakeholders, keeping your team informed and flagging risks early when deadlines are challenged. You’re comfortable working in a busy environment, managing competing priorities, and always striving to do less, better.

- Own the end-to-end month-end close for Cost of Sales, including accruals, prepayments, stock and margin reporting
- Manage stock processes: site stock closures, write-offs, transfers, and liaison with Procurement
- Post and review key COS-related accruals and income streams, including rebates, central kitchen, franchise income, banking recharges and gift card commission
Reporting & insight
- Prepare and maintain the period Margin Pack
- Support the first P&L review and distribute P&Ls and transaction listings to sites
- Deliver clear, meaningful analysis to support decision-making
Control & business partnering
- Maintain balance sheet reconciliations
- Support budgeting and forecasting for Cost of Sales
- Partner with operational and non-finance stakeholders across the business
Audit & continuous improvement
- Support the year-end audit, providing accurate and timely deliverables
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls, and reporting accuracy
What you’ll bring
- Part-qualified or fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent)
- Strong commercial mindset with excellent business acumen
- Proven experience in month-end and year-end reporting, ideally within Cost of Sales or margin-focused roles
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data manipulation) and confidence working with large data sets
- Ability to interpret and present financial data to non-finance stakeholders
- Experience in a multi-site environment, ideally hospitality
- Strong systems knowledge (CODA or similar preferred)
- High attention to detail, organised and deadline-driven
