About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and commercially minded Management Accountant to join our growing finance team. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, driving process improvements, and supporting operational decision-making across the business.
This is a varied role that combines traditional management accounting responsibilities with business partnering and continuous improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, balancing the delivery of month-end reporting with the ability to analyse financial performance and provide meaningful insight to stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:

Management Accounts & Month-End Reporting
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts.
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances.
- Post journals including accruals, prepayments, depreciation, and payroll.
- Produce monthly profit and loss reports and supporting schedules.
- Analyse financial performance against budget and forecast.
- Assist with year-end audit requirements and statutory reporting.

Financial Analysis & Business Partnering
- Provide financial analysis to support operational and commercial decision-making.
- Work closely with department managers to understand financial performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Investigate revenue, margin, and cost trends, highlighting risks and opportunities.
- Support the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
- Develop meaningful KPI reporting for senior management.

Process Improvement & Controls
- Review existing finance processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and automation.
- Support the implementation of new systems and reporting tools.
- Maintain robust financial controls and compliance with company policies.
- Contribute to the development of reporting packs and management information.

Skills & Experience:
Essential
- Previous experience in a Management Accountant or equivalent role.
- Month-end accounting experience.
- Excellent Excel skills and experience working with large datasets.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
