The Role:
We are seeking a talented Management Accountant to join the Hunter Price finance team. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will take ownership of the production of accurate and timely monthly management accounts, supporting financial reporting across our UK, EU and US entities. This is a hands-on role at the heart of an ambitious, fast-growing consumer products business.
You will play a key part in the month-end close and analysis to help the business make better commercial and financial decisions. Working closely with the Financial Controller and Finance Director, you will help raise the standard of reporting, strengthen controls and improve processes across the finance function.
The ideal candidate will be diligent, inquisitive and commercially minded, comfortable in an international, multi-entity, import-led businesses, and have experience in a D2C E-Commerce business.
Key Responsibilities:
Management Accounts & Month-End
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet and cash flow, with supporting commentary and variance analysis
- Own the month-end close process, including journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations across multiple entities of varying sizes
- Process foreign currency transactions and revaluations accurately across UK, EU and US entities
- Prepare ad-hoc reporting for senior leadership and the founder-owners
- Maintain and improve month-end timetables, checklists and reporting packs
Financial Control & Compliance
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations to a high standard, investigating and resolving differences promptly
- Prepare VAT returns and support other statutory and regulatory submissions across jurisdictions
- Assist in analysing and accurately accounting for sales from multiple income platforms involving a high volume of data.
- Help maintain a robust internal control environment and consistent accounting policies across the Group
- Support inter-company accounting, reconciliations and multi-currency consolidation processes
- Assist in managing relationships with external auditors and advisors
Commercial & Supply Chain Finance
- Support landed cost analysis for the Group's China and Far East import supply chain, including freight, duty and tariffs
- Provide margin analysis by product, customer and channel to support commercial decision-making
- Partner with commercial, buying and operations teams to provide financial insight and support cost control

Systems & Process Improvement
- Play an active role in the ongoing optimisation of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central across the Group
- Identify opportunities to automate and streamline month-end and reporting processes, adopting and utilising AI where possible
- Continuously improve the quality, accuracy and usefulness of management information across the Group
Team & Business Partnering
- Support and mentor junior members of the finance team
- Build strong working relationships with colleagues across commercial, operations and supply chain teams
- Provide cover and support across the wider finance function during key periods
What We Are looking For:
Essential:
- Part-qualified or newly qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA or ACA)
- Proven experience preparing monthly management accounts from start to finish
- Strong month-end close experience, including journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations
- Solid understanding of P&L, balance sheet and cash flow reporting
- Experience in dealing with multiple income streams from a D2C E-commerce company
- Advanced Excel skills, including lookups and pivot tables as a minimum
- High attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and deadlines
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to investigate and explain variances clearly
- Confident communicator, comfortable working with non-finance colleagues
- Proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to manage your own workload
- Experience working in a fast-paced SME or group environment
Desirable:
- Experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, and Xero
- Experience with dealing with online sales platforms Amazon and TikTok.
- Experience in an import-led, stock-holding business with a China or Far East supply chain
- Exposure to multi-entity, multi-currency group structures (UK, EU and US)
- Background in consumer goods, toys, games or lifestyle products, retail or e-commerce
- Experience preparing VAT returns and supporting statutory reporting
- Experience in working with licenced products and the corresponding royalty calculations and submission across multiple licensors.
