Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

About You

  • Proactive: You don't wait for problems to land on your desk. You're commercially curious, take initiative, and stay one step ahead of risks and opportunities.
  • Commercial: You're interested in what drives performance, not just what happened last month, and you're motivated by helping the business achieve better outcomes.
  • Challenging: You're happy to ask difficult questions, challenge assumptions, and bring independent thinking to discussions and decisions.
  • Driven: You thrive on delivering results, managing competing priorities, and maintaining momentum in a fast-paced environment.
  • Influential: You can confidently engage stakeholders at all levels, using data and insight to shape thinking and support decision-making.
  • Detail-Oriented: You have high standards for accuracy and quality, combining a keen eye for detail with the discipline to produce reliable, decision-ready financial information.

What You'll Do

  • Own monthly management accounts for a defined business area, including commentary and performance analysis.
  • Deliver clear variance analysis across revenue, margin, cost of sales, and operating expenditure, explaining movements across the P&L.
  • Build and maintain forecasts and budgets, ensuring alignment to business plans and assumptions.
  • Identify financial risks and opportunities early, providing insight and recommendations.
  • Partner with stakeholders to support planning, performance tracking, and decision-making.
  • Challenge assumptions and inputs to improve forecast accuracy and financial discipline.
  • Produce management information (MI) that is accurate, relevant, and actionable.
  • Link financial performance to operational drivers and business activity.
  • Support cost management through tracking, analysis, and stakeholder discussions.
  • Ensure reporting aligns to accounting standards and reconciles to underlying financial records.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of reporting, forecasting, and MI processes.
