Management Accounts Assistant Manager

Location: Guildford, Surrey

An exciting opportunity has arisen with a fast-growing accountancy firm, operating across multiple offices and serving thousands of clients—businesses and individuals—across Sussex and Surrey.

About the Role

Assist the Director with their client portfolio, progressively becoming the primary point of contact for client queries while ensuring compliance with UK accounting standards.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day management account assistance to the Director, escalating to direct client contact
  • Prepare and review management accounts for a diverse client base, ranging from sole traders to SMEs
  • Oversee outsourcing and bookkeeping operations
  • Draft and review tax and VAT returns in strict adherence to regulatory standards
  • Support the Director’s staff development and training initiatives
  • Collect, analyse, and interpret practice data for reporting and strategy formulation
  • Contribute to business growth by identifying client development opportunities
  • Begin involvement in FP&A and financial management, including:
    • Managing invoice tracking
    • Processing expenses
    • Preparing financial reports

Requirements

  • ACCA/ACA/CIMA (or equivalent) accountancy qualification
  • Proven experience in management accounting, operations, and client servicing
  • Exposure to supervising and reviewing trainee accountants’ work and delivering constructive feedback
  • Strong organisational and analytical skills to handle varying client needs
