1ST GEAR! – Global Management Trainee Programme at SIXT

About the Role

At SIXT, we’re not just hiring talent—we’re building leadership careers. Our 1ST GEAR! global Management Trainee Program is a 12-month accelerated leadership journey, where you’ll gain hands-on experience, take ownership, and graduate straight into your first management role.

Your Management Career Path

Over the course of the 12-month program, you’ll:

  • Take on responsibility from day one, supporting operational goals and driving efficiency.
  • Gain insights into key business areas, including:
    • Sales & Customer Service
    • Fleet Management
    • Performance Management
  • Develop clear learning and performance goals tailored to your growth.
  • Work as a Sales Executive, engaging with core operations while learning:
    • Communication strategies
    • Conflict resolution
    • Sales techniques
    • Problem-solving
  • Collaborate closely with Branch Managers and Area Directors to learn leadership on the job.

The Skills We Seek

To succeed with 1ST GEAR!, you’ll need:

  • A growth mindset – Graduate with a bachelor’s degree (any discipline) or professional experience in:
    • Sales
    • Customer Service
    • Tourism
    • Hospitality
    • Management
  • Leadership and entrepreneurial potential – You don’t wait for instructions: you take initiative.
  • Communication excellence – Fluent English is essential; additional languages are a big plus.
  • Proactive attitude – You solve problems, work independently, and take ownership.
  • Agile flexibility – Willingness to rotate across different locations and branches throughout the program.
  • Mobility readiness – Valid UK driver’s license with at least 1-year experience and 6 or fewer points.

Key Requirements

⚠️ Note: A successful applicant must be available for our Assessment Centre (Monday 25th August) and the program start date (Monday 5th October). Guaranteed leadership positions are conditional on relocation anywhere within the UK.
