Manager (4-Day Week)

Accountancy Practice | Sheffield | Up to £50,000 | 4-day week

Four days a week. Full pay, full role, no catch.

One of the fastest-growing accountancy practices in the region is hiring a Manager to take ownership of a portfolio of clients and lead a small team through management accounts, VAT compliance, and advisory work. It’s a senior, hands-on role with a genuinely reduced week attached to it, not a watered-down version of the job for less money.

You’ll be the main point of contact for your clients, spotting where they need advice beyond the numbers, and you’ll have real input into how the team runs day to day.

The four-day week

This isn’t a compressed-hours trick or a trial scheme. The practice has restructured around a genuine four-day week because it gets better work out of people who aren’t running on empty by Thursday. You keep full salary and full seniority. What changes is how much of your week belongs to you.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

  • Manage and develop a team of four, balancing workload and mentoring less experienced staff.
  • Take responsibility for deadlines, engagement profitability, and the standard of work leaving the team.
