THE ROLE
This is a management position within a busy independent practice, offering a rewarding opportunity to lead the Accounts team. You will oversee the preparation of Financial accounts and Management information. Your role will involve strategic planning, improving reporting processes, and ensuring team work is accurate and timely.
- Lead and review preparation of financial and management accounts
- Prepare and analyse forecasts and cash flow projections.
- Support senior partners with financial insights and strategic advice.
- Oversee and review the work of the accounts team, ensuring quality and deadlines.
- Mentors and coaches team members.
- Maintain controls in line with internal policies and standards.

Mandatory
- Hold a professional accounting qualification (ICAS, ICAEW, ACCA).
- Have at least 5 years’ experience in management accounts and financial reporting.
- Be familiar with FRS 102 and UK GAAP standards.
- Have direct line management experience within an accountancy practice or industry setting.
- Be skilled in producing management reports, forecasts, and variance analysis.
- Demonstrate strong Excel skills, including pivot tables and formulas.
Preferred
- Experience working in an accountancy firm at some point in your career - but applicants currently working in Practice or Industry are invited.
- Knowledge of ERP and reporting tools like Power BI.
- Familiarity with cash flow management and liquidity planning.
