The Team

We would like to invite you to join Alvarez & Marsal’s dynamic Transaction Advisory team. Our award-winning practice includes over 1,000 professionals in over 40 offices across the United States, Middle East, Europe, Latin America, India and Asia Pacific. We work for premium clients focused on the financial services sector. Our Transactions Advisory team have established Alvarez & Marsal as one of the leading providers of financial due diligence globally and the leading firm to develop a fulfilling career in Transaction Advisory.

A&M provides investors and lenders with the answers needed to get the deal done. We combine our firm’s deep operational, industry and functional resources with quality financial accounting and tax expertise to assess key deal drivers and focus on the root cause of any critical deal issues. The largest Transaction Advisory practice outside the Big Four, our global integrated teams help private equity and corporate acquirers unlock value across the investment cycle.

Over the last several years, A&M has invested significantly in building its FS proposition across multiple disciplines, including M&A advisory, regulatory, commercial, operational, tax and technology expertise. You will benefit from regular collaboration with industry specialists, helping to deepen your sector knowledge and accelerate your career development.

How You Will Contribute

We are seeking a Manager / Assistant Director / Director to join our dynamic Transaction Advisory team with a specialism in Financial Services. The successful candidate will:

  • Lead the day-to-day on FS buy-side and sell-side transactions by managing a team, preparing analyses, drafting reports and sharing findings with our clients
  • Work closely with our Managing Directors to articulate deal issues
  • Collaborate with industry experts across other workstreams
  • Develop a rapport with clients and prepare client specific analyses enabling evaluation of potential transactions in the context of a clients’ investment strategy
  • Gain broad industry exposure working with a variety of large-cap and mid-cap private equity houses, corporate clients and financial institutions
  • Work as one EMEA FS team collaborating with colleagues across Europe
  • Expand the commercial aspects of your financial analysis skills and gain insight on key drivers and valuation considerations that drive a transaction
  • Help develop junior colleagues while benefitting from established formal and informal training programme and mentorship

Qualifications

  • Detail oriented day-to-day lead, working primarily on financial services or other regulated businesses
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • ‘Can do’ attitude to do what it takes to get the job done
  • Qualified accountant and/or an exceptional academic record
  • Proven senior level experience in Transaction Advisory / Financial Due Diligence is essential in addition to experience across FS sector
  • Trained at a Big 4 firm or an established Transaction Advisory (Transaction Services) practice
  • Fluent written and spoken English is essential
