Job Description

What will you be doing?

We’re seeking a talented Manager - Client Onboarding to join our team in Glasgow. You will be responsible for a team of 9 who will perform all daily activities associated with Vetting and XP Docs to ensure full compliance with anti‑money laundering regulations, the Financial Services Compensation Scheme, FATCA, FCA and CASS rules, as well as Suitability and KYC requirements.

This includes the vetting of all relevant client documentation to ensure completeness, accuracy, and regulatory compliance and responsibility for delivering a timely and accurate onboarding service for new clients within agreed SLAs, while maintaining high‑quality, compliant data for existing clients.

You will play a critical role in safeguarding the firm, supporting regulatory adherence, and ensuring a positive and seamless start to the Client Journey.

As Manager - Client Onboarding, your responsibilities will include among others:

  • Provide strong strategic leadership, driving continuous improvement, automation, and alignment with business priorities.
  • Ensure a smooth, professional, and brand‑aligned onboarding experience that enhances the overall client journey.
  • Develop and support the team by providing coaching, technical guidance, and regular training needs analysis to equip them for increasing complexity.
  • Act as a technical escalation point, resolving complex issues efficiently and ensuring professional, timely handling of internal and external client requests.
  • Maintain robust governance by ensuring systems, processes, procedures, and controls are fit for purpose, fully documented, and regularly reviewed.
  • Support the senior manager with the implementation and maintenance of the risk and control matrix and ensure KPI/KRI and management information reporting is accurate and timely.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should:

  • Significant operations experience gained within financial services
  • Demonstrable and practical knowledge of the regulatory environment relating to investment management and in particular settlement operations
  • Demonstrable experience of supervising the work of more junior members of staff
  • Experience of managing a team desirable, although not essential
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages: Minimum basic level Word and intermediate level Excel

Desired:

  • Relevant Level 3 FCA recognised professional qualification (e.g. CISI Investment Operations Certificate) or appetite and ability to complete it within 18 months of appointment
