Description
This role is an amazing opportunity to join a high performing team of experienced professionals in our Corporate Recovery team. It offers scope to receive on-the-job training covering the valuation of a cross section of assets and industrial sectors. This role provides an insight into various manufacturing processes and stages of a product lifestyle, while working within an excellent team environment of highly professional and experienced individuals. You will be able to develop a network of clients by attending lunches, sports, and social events for business development. It is an exciting time to join us as we expand the team and strengthen our presence in the market.
The role is based in our London office and reports to Neal Weekes, Director, Corporate Recovery. The person in this role will be responsible for the valuation and appraisal of various industrial assets in preparation for business sales, financial & operational guarantees, or asset disposition. The role will include supporting our offices in London, Birmingham, Leeds & Newcastle, Bristol, and Manchester.

Job Description
Responsibilities / Essential Job Functions:
- Undertake physical site inspections, recording plant & equipment details, compiling asset schedules, processing information supplied;
- Conduct valuation research with external trade contacts, interpreting transactional comparable evidence, producing formal valuations, report writing, client correspondence, etc.;
- Formulate the findings into a structured report and present internally.
- Oversee asset disposal programs including private treaty, tender, or online auction sales to include site / asset preparation, cataloguing, health & safety, removal considerations;
- Manage dispositions projects across multiple sectors from launch to completion, ensuring timely completion.
- Deal with on-site issues including H&S requirements, site clearance, arranging access for third parties;
- Interact with Insolvency & Restructuring professionals, turnaround firms, asset finance companies, accountants;
- Build and grow client working relationships during existing case work and via marketing opportunities, and assist with Team-on-Team marketing events, attend industry events to promote Gordon Brothers;
- Conduct calls with subject companies and their advisors to ensure full understanding of any information that was provided;
- Conduct and attend client meetings when needed;
- Develop and maintain client relationships to generate new business opportunities for the Company;
- Support the wider Valuations & Corporate Recovery Team;
- Mentor and develop more junior members of the team, sharing knowledge and training them;
- Cross-sell other Gordon Brothers service lines.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Minimum of 6 years of machinery and equipment valuation and / or disposition work in the Corporate Recovery sector.
- Ideally the applicant will be RICS Qualified, but it is not essential. Other machinery-related qualifications can / will be considered such as NAVA, ASA, etc.
- Ability to develop business and own client relationships.
- Experience of client interaction and an existing client network in the industry.
- Enthusiastic, good work ethic, willingness to learn, and attention to detail.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Interest in plant & equipment, manufacturing processes, various industry sectors, etc.
- Strong drive for results, bias for action with superior analytical and time management skills.
- Proven strength in managing relationships to grow the business.
- Willingness to travel approximately 50% of the time to visit company sites to inspect and analyze machinery and equipment in person. Will typically include overnight and occasionally some weekend travel.
