The Opportunity
EY is seeking experienced team members to provide privacy and data protection services to our clients. This role requires you to:
- Take a key position in delivering EY’s services
- Lead and manage engagements while supporting client delivery
- Build out EY’s privacy and data protection services, defining go-to-market activities
- Advise clients on current market trends
This role focuses primarily on privacy but will also involve collaboration across all aspects of cyber consulting, including data governance, strategy, and cybersecurity programmes.
Key Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Lead engagements and build productive relationships with client stakeholders through project delivery
- Work across a portfolio of engagements, responsible for day-to-day delivery to meet quality, time, and budget targets
- Develop the practice by contributing to articles, thought pieces, and industry events
- Collaborate with prospective clients on planning and delivering engagements
- Create high-quality reports for engagement and project leaders
- Identify sales opportunities and work with senior leaders on proposals
- Develop junior team members through mentoring, coaching, and leading by example

Skills and Attributes for Success

- Experience in people management, coaching, and team leadership
To Qualify for the Role
Must have:
- Professional experience in consulting/professional services delivering privacy and data protection engagements, including:
- Assessments, programme enhancements, and services for UK and global privacy needs
- Data protection programmes (e.g., governance, data management, DLP, and tech rollouts)
- Designing remediation roadmaps for multi-year enhancement programmes
- Experience in:
- Risk identification, management, regulatory reporting, maturity/assurance assessments
- Implementing cyber resilience solutions or security transformation
- Clinical knowledge of privacy risks, GDPR, data protection frameworks (e.g., UK GDPR, PECR, etc.), and compliance strategies
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate on complex solutions or proposition development
Ideally, You’ll Also Have:
- Privacy qualifications (e.g., CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT, ISEB in Data Protection)
- Experience with privacy tooling (e.g., OneTrust, BigID, Purview, Trust Arc)
- Exposure to DLP, Data Discovery, and classification tools
- Cybersecurity qualifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CISMP, ISO27001 Implementer)
- Sector experience in (e.g., Government/Public Sector, Energy/Utilities, Retail, Life Sciences, Telecoms, Media/Tech, Transport)

Security Clearance Requirements
- Candidates must undergo a Security Check (SC) after joining, including:
- Verification of identity and right to work in the UK
- Employment history checks
- Proof of address validation
- Unspent criminal conviction disclosure (if applicable)
- Must be a UK national or have lived in the UK for ≤5 years, with ≥5 years residency (no >6 months outside the UK permitted)
