CrowdStrike’s CTO Labs team is seeking a Manager to lead a team of data scientists at the intersection of Machine Learning, Big Data, and Security. This is a leadership role where you will guide a team working on cutting-edge threat detection and agentic AI systems for cybersecurity.
As a technical leader, you will drive the strategic direction of machine learning initiatives, mentor and develop your team, and collaborate across functions to deliver innovative security solutions. You’ll leverage CrowdStrike’s unique cybersecurity data—processing nearly a trillion behavioural events per day and over 2000 terabytes of malware samples—to advance our threat detection capabilities and explore new frontiers in AI-driven security.
This role requires a unique combination of deep machine learning expertise and cybersecurity domain knowledge, as you’ll bridge the gap between data science and security operations to deliver meaningful impact for our customers.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead and mentor a team of data scientists, providing technical guidance, career development, and performance management
- Establish technical standards and best practices for ML development, deployment, and monitoring
- Define and drive the technical strategy for machine learning initiatives in threat detection and agentic AI for security
- Lead ML projects from initial research through production deployment, ensuring successful delivery and measurable impact
- Plan and prioritize team roadmaps, balancing research innovation with delivery of production ML systems
- Stay current with emerging trends in ML and cybersecurity, and evaluate new technologies for potential adoption
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including security research, engineering, and product to align ML capabilities with business objectives
- Partner with security domain experts to identify high-impact opportunities where ML can enhance threat detection and response
- Communicate complex technical concepts and ML insights to stakeholders across the organization
- Guide the development of advanced models for malware detection, behavioural threat analysis, and AI-driven security automation
- Drive research initiatives that result in publications, blog posts, patents, and other contributions to the ML and security communities
- Contribute to hands-on technical work when needed, maintaining deep expertise in ML systems and security applications

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
