Payroll and Benefits Product Manager

Location: UK (Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the UK is required)

American Express’s The Colleague Experience Group (CEG)—the global Human Resources function—drives colleague-related benefits and programs, ensuring career growth, leadership development, total rewards, well-being, recruitment, and compliance initiatives. CEG’s vision is to deliver the best colleague experience daily, empowering Team Amex to deliver their best work through robust support and resources.

This critical role is responsible for owning the Payroll and Benefits product portfolio within Oracle HCM—ensuring a reliable, compliant, and colleague-centric experience across all functions.


Key Responsibilities

The Product Manager will:

  • Define and execute Payroll and Benefits product strategy to align with business goals, operational excellence, and colleague experience.
  • Lead the Oracle Payroll and Benefits roadmap, driving modernization, digital transformation, and agile adoption.
  • Optimise processes by automating workflows, streamlining operations, and eliminating redundancies.
  • Balance compliance requirements, risk management, operational efficiency, and colleague satisfaction.
  • Partner closely with leaders in Payroll, Benefits, Finance, Technology, and Compliance teams.
  • Define and track operational and experience-based success metrics to measure impact.

Qualifications & Requirements

Essential

Candidate must:

  • Be highly analytical and detail-oriented, with the ability to translate complex challenges into actionable solutions.
  • Have significant hands-on experience with Oracle Payroll and Benefits—proven operational expertise is critical.
  • Demonstrate a strong track record in product management within enterprise HR technology.
  • Understand payroll operations, compliance, and benefits administration inside-out.
  • Apply a strong risk and compliance mindset through all processes.
  • Have familiarity with Agile tools and iterative development approaches—comfortable thriving in fast-paced, collaborative environments.
  • Communicate eloquently, facilitator stakeholder input, document requirements clearly, and align teams effectively.
  • Show curiosity and enthusiasm for growth in product management, colleague experience, and enterprise systems.
  • Be collaborative, with the ability to build trust within cross-functional teams and drive alignment automatically.

  • Global payroll administration experience.
  • Vendor/integration management for HR systems.
