About the Role
The Global EIC Sales Onboarding team within Sales Enablement & Acceleration (SEA) is a forward-thinking, AI-first group on a mission to transform the traditional onboarding experience. This team designs an industry-defying Day 1 journey for interns and early-in-career talent, ensuring they quickly launch into strong career trajectories at Cisco. Your Impact
As an ASE Manager, you will:
- Lead and coach a cohort of early-in-career Associate Solutions Engineers through their first 12 months at Cisco.
- Ensure a seamless transition from onboarding to high-performance solutions engineer (SE) roles.
- Translate field-proven technical expertise into actionable coaching plans, focusing on:
- Technical agility
- Demo mastery
- Role readiness
- Train your cohort to leverage AI assistants and technical automation tools to:
- Streamline solution design
- Optimize lab configurations
- Reduce administrative burdens
- Conduct rigorous performance tracking and regular reviews to identify and bridge technical skill gaps throughout the one-year development program.
At the end of the first year, drive successful career transitions for your engineering team, ensuring a steady pipeline of elite technical talent capable of solving complex customer challenges.

- Mentor an intern/Associate Solutions Engineer cohort.
- Provide technical leadership while fostering their career growth.
- Foster an environment of collaboration and innovation.

Technical Architecture and AI Integration
- Empower your team to use AI and automation tools for increased efficiency in demos and daily tasks.
- Ensure your team can confidently tackle complex customer challenges.

Performance Oversight
- Conduct performance reviews, track progress, and address any skill gaps.

- Support seamless transition to advanced roles through progressive development.
- Identify and groom high-potential engineers for future leadership tracks.
Team Collaboration
- Play a core part in a global team that insists on leadership with excitement and boldness.
- Engage meaningfully within cross-functional teams to enhance the onboarding experience.
- Develop and enhance strategies that foster a culture of learning and growth.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 8+ years of field-facing experience in a technical role like Solutions Engineer or Technical Specialist.
- 3+ years of experience directly managing people within a sales organization.
- Proven expertise in technical validation (demos, proof of concepts).
- Experience using AI-integrated workflows in workflows that acquire specific efficiencies, cutting down manual tasks.
- Competence with sales tools like Salesforce and tactical hands-on experience in lab environments.

Preferred Qualifications
- Active champion of emerging technology, especially AI, to drive team efficiency and innovation.
- Active technical certifications like:
- CCNP
- CCIE
- Equivalent industry certifications
- Strong ability to simplify complex concepts into actionable technical narratives, ensuring clarity and precision.
- Strong coaching mindset, with proven track record in:
- Career development for new hires
- Informal mentorship from diverse background teams.
- Experience with strategic "stretch assignments" to accelerate learning and growth among junior engineers.
