Responsibilities
This role is based at Redditch in the UK, on site.
Working times are Monday to Thursday 7am to 3pm and Friday 7am to 12pm.
Flexibility is expected at times to ensure the role is fulfilled.
Travel in Europe is required to attend any EHS specific business events.
We are seeking an experienced Health and Safety Manager to join the business, with the purpose of the role as follows:
To provide, maintain and promote EHS systems and programs that ensures the company operates in a safe and responsible manner which respects the environment, health and quality of our employees, customers and stakeholders through the implementation and maintenance of the Howmet ASAT process and regulatory standards.
The post holder will participate in the definition of the strategy of your perimeter within the entity and ensure its implementation, in collaboration with your superiors. They will manage and organise the activities and resources (human and technical) of your perimeter.
The post holder will also oversee advising, representing and assisting the General Management in defining the EHS policy and its implementation: occupational safety, working conditions and environmental protection.

Specific Responsibilities Include:
- To be well versed in the Howmet EHS standards, especially the EHS incident reporting, Metric targets and data submission (monthly and quarterly, etc.)
- Actively apply self-verification process and report deviations
- Enforcing the rules to resolution with regards to gaps and deviations (raise to management and BU as needed to drive culture change)
- Actively Promote EHS Awareness
- Establish a culture that is aligned with BU EHS goals and objectives, with continuous EHS improvements
- Responsible for driving processes that will result in a reduction of accidents and injuries and the identification of potential hazards present in the workplace.
- Responsible for directing incident investigations identifying root causes of EHS Incidents and executing sustainable corrective actions.
- Respond to emergencies accordingly
- Assist in planning, directing, and coordinating EHS compliance activities (including insurance recommendations) through functional teams
- Manage and order workwear for direct employees.

Qualifications
Experience and Background:
- In-depth knowledge of all Health & Safety regulatory Standards, plus a working knowledge of QS9000 & BS EN ISO14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007
- Be able to analyse EHS risks and implement action plans.
- Be able to make problem-solving proposals.
- Know the ISO 14001 standards.
- Knowledge of audit techniques.
- Know administrative management techniques.
- Knowledge of electrical risk.
- English (reading, understanding, writing, speaking).
- Knowledge of Word, Excel and Powerpoint computer tools.
- Converts, summarises and interprets information, and passes on relevant information.
- Health & Safety role with experience at functional management level
- Liases and presents information to other team members, other departments and senior management, as required.
