Manager – International Business Process Outsourcing (Scotland Office)

We’re seeking a highly strategic and experienced professional to lead our International Business Process Outsourcing (BPM) team at our new Scotland office. In this influential leadership role, you’ll drive operational excellence, risk management, and process improvement across EMEA markets, shaping both people and processes for maximum impact.
About the Role
As Manager, International Business Process Outsourcing, you will:
- Lead a multi-level team (associates, senior associates, and supervisors), fostering mentorship, coaching, and high performance.
- Take full accountability for operational delivery, including settlements, corporate actions, and static data management across EMEA.
- Define and execute operational strategy to ensure efficiency, compliance, and alignment with business objectives.
- Oversee risk mitigation, governance, and control frameworks while driving continuous improvement through automation and process redesign.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for complex and high-risk issues, ensuring transparency and regulatory adherence.
This is a high-impact leadership role with direct responsibility for the growth and performance of the Scotland office.
Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor, and drive performance management for a cross-functional team across EMEA.
- Establish and maintain best practices in operative oversight and talent development.

Operational Excellence
- Oversee and optimise end-to-end settlements, corporate actions, and static data processes for accuracy, timeliness, and risk reduction.
- Partner with stakeholders to implement automation, process redesign, and operational efficiency programs.

Risk & Compliance Management
- Manage and mitigate operational and settlement risks, ensuring alignment with market regulations and governance standards.
- Ensure compliance with stakeholder deadlines, regulatory requirements, and internal control frameworks.

Strategic & Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders (including senior leadership, global teams, and settlement platforms).
- Represent the team in audits, regulatory reviews, and governance deliverables, ensuring transparency and compliance.

Operational Performance & Continuous Improvement
- Drive data-driven decision-making and benchmarking against industry best practices.
- Initiate and oversee process improvement projects with measurable outcomes.
Qualifications

Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related discipline.
- 10+ years’ experience in capital markets operations, with deep expertise in:
- Settlements, corporate actions, and static data maintenance
- Cross-border financial services and trade support workflows.
- Proven track record of leading teams in high-volume, high-complexity environments.

Technical & Functional Expertise
- In-depth knowledge of end-to-end trade settlement lifecycle across multiple asset classes (equities, bonds, derivatives, etc.).
- Strong understanding of EMEA settlement market cycles, deadlines, and regulatory frameworks.
- Proficiency with settlement platforms (e.g., Euroclear, Clearstream, CREST).
- Hands-on experience with automation, analytics, and process optimisation.

Risk, Controls & Compliance
- Extensive experience in operational risk management, including:
- Embedding risk frameworks (e.g., COSO, Basel III).
- Conducting gap assessments, audit preparedness, and control reviews.
- Ability to identify and resolve high-impact operational risks.

- Leadership of global operational teams or oversight in multi-country settings.
- Prior experience in a Scotland/UK-base office or working within EMEA financial structures.
- Hands-on prior exposure to audits, regulatory scrutiny, or severe incident reviews.
