The Role
This role works with the Director, Enterprise Risk Management to deliver insightful and impactful reporting on the HINV risk profile, which is presented to each HINV Risk Management Meeting and Board Risk Committee. It also plays a role in fostering a risk aware culture through the development, monitoring and reporting of risk appetite. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with Risk Stewards for all risk types in HINV, as well as interfacing with teams across the wider HSBC Group to help ensure HINV operates in line with Risk Management Framework requirements and best practice.

Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinate the monthly Risk Map and Risk Appetite processes and timelines
- Prepare monthly Risk Map reporting, which sets Risk Stewards’ opinion of how the First Line of Defence are managing their risks, undertaking review and challenge of Risk Steward commentaries and remediation timelines
- Work with Risk Stewards to set Risk Appetite for HINV, undertaking review and challenge of their proposals and rationale, and prepare reporting to the HINV Risk Management Meeting and Board Risk Committee
- Prepare monthly Risk Appetite reporting, undertaking review and challenge of Risk Steward commentaries and remediation timelines
- Support Risk Steward teams in understanding and implementing changes to the Global Risk Appetite Framework
- Assist with the Risk Management Meeting end-to-end process where required, including coordination and review of papers and action follow up
- Undertake ad hoc assignments, as required
Requirements (skills/experience)
- Experience in risk management and reporting in a financial institution in either the First or Second Line of Defence
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Good analytical skills and an ability to synthesize complex information effectively
- Experience of drafting concise, clear written reports suitable for senior executives
- Strong relationship and influencing skills
- Good time management and ability to deliver under pressure, while maintaining close attention to detail
- Must be self-motivated, a team player, and be comfortable facing into Risk subject matter experts
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience

Our home office in Finsbury Square, London. We offer hybrid working to our employees, so you can flex between home and the office, with a current requirement to be in the office 2 days per week.
