We design, build, and optimise operations of Energy, Resourcing and Industrials (ER&I) Businesses to enable their biggest ideas and help them to become digital and sustainable. In Operations Industry & Domain Solutions (OIDS) we have always led with our industry knowledge. Our clients value the insight and expertise we bring from the wide range of organisations we work for, and the experience that brings. In ER&I it is no different; we work with clients to aid them in transforming within a rapidly changing environment to achieve their goals, including a net zero future, and preparing for Industry 4.0. Industrial businesses are going through a major change driven by the energy transition as we move from the world of hydrocarbons to renewables and other energy sources. In OIDS, our rapidly growing community of ER&I professionals are responding to complex market challenges, to maximise business potential across the full spectrum of the ER&I industry.
Your role will include:
- Supporting the design and delivery of operating models and identifying areas of innovation/operational improvement within existing operating models
- Assessing processes, identifying and quantifying inefficiencies and contributing ideas for improvement
- Helping develop business cases, leading on data synthesizing and modelling, and identifying and/or delivering sustainable cost savings in collaboration with senior clients
- Developing methodical approaches to research and analysing large qualitative and quantitative data sets to shape insights and recommendations
- Evaluating and using emerging and innovative technologies or ways of thinking to shape strategy; design operating models, principles and roadmaps; and deliver transformation
- Developing and managing relationships across a broad range of stakeholder groups
- Leading small project teams and/or components of engagements on time, within budget and to a high standard
- Organising insights to define a logical flow to tell a story when presenting recommendations
- Contributing to the development of approaches and activities to shape recommendations for our clients

Connect to your skills and professional experience
We are looking for people to join our team who embrace change and bring us ever greater breadth and depth of expertise. The quality of our technical skills is enhanced through our practical knowledge of implementation and our ability to learn from each other.
Although not essential, in addition to the core skills above, we would welcome any of the desirable experience below:
- Proven depth of knowledge of the operational dynamics and industry trends in one or more of the following industries: Energy Chemicals Power, Utilities & Renewables Mining & Metals Industrial Products & Construction
- Experience leading transformation projects or programmes with the aim of delivering measurable business impact, for example through: Cost reduction Process improvement Operating model redesign Technology solution implementation
- Experience of use of AI/ Automation to accelerate key operational processes and/or optimise ways of working in one of the above sectors
- Previous consulting experience, whether as an independent advisor or in-house
- Experience analysing and manipulating large data sets to identify, justify and prioritise efficiency opportunities, such as cost-saving opportunities, and/or developing large-scale financial business cases (using MS Excel or ANAPLAN)
- Experience working in a Finance or Reporting function, and/or holding management or financial accounting qualifications (e.g., CIMA, ACA, ACCA, CFA)

Regulation and controls are standard practice in our industry and Deloitte is no exception. These controls provide important legal protection for both you and the firm. We are subject to a number of audit regulations, one of which requires that certain colleagues abide by specific personal independence constraints (e.g., in relation to any financial interests and employment relationships). This can mean that you and your "Immediate Family Members" are not permitted to hold certain financial interests (shares, funds, bonds etc.) with audit clients of the firm, and also prohibitions on certain employment relationships (e.g., you are not permitted to hold a secondary employment role with SEC audit clients of the firm whilst being employed by the firm).
