At the City of Leduc, our mission is People. Building. Community. We offer a collaborative and dynamic workplace where our values of Teamwork, Service, Respect, and Leadership guide our conduct and contribute to a healthy culture.

If you would like to work as part of a progressive organization and enjoy a fast-paced environment, then this may be the opportunity for you. Come work with us!

We believe that our municipal workforce can only serve the community effectively when they have safe, reliable, and well-maintained equipment supporting them. From snowplows and emergency response vehicles to specialized infrastructure equipment, our fleet is the backbone of the City's daily operations. Our Infrastructure & Planning department focuses on keeping our city moving forward safely and sustainably.

When you take on this permanent, full-time role, you will inherit a well-managed fleet operation with experienced staff, effective systems, and a strong reputation for delivering reliable service. The shop is backed by highly capable Leads who keep daily operations running smoothly, meaning you are stepping into a stable, professional organization.

This is a crucial leadership role that connects hands-on mechanical trade expertise with practical corporate strategy—giving you the perfect opportunity to build on our continued success while helping shape the future of Fleet Services.

What is the Opportunity?

Reporting directly to the Director of Public Services, the Manager, Fleet Services provides comprehensive business leadership and operational oversight to our entire fleet division. In this critical role, you hold total accountability for asset lifecycle management, substantial capital procurement projects, and the sustainable growth of our maintenance operations.

This isn't a job where you just sit behind a desk and read spreadsheets. You will be the person who brings modern fleet practices to life across our city. By using fleet data and telematics, you will help us make smart, evidence-based decisions about when to repair, maintain, or replace vehicles. You will work closely with all city departments to understand what their teams need, make sure our entire fleet meets safety and provincial standards, and find ways to keep our operations running smoothly and efficiently.

What will you do?

In this role, your focus will be split between supporting your people, managing capital assets, and keeping our shop running safely. You will:

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
