We are looking for a corporate and commercial lawyer to join a team of experienced and versatile in-house lawyers across EMEA, APAC and North America, to provide legal advice for all aspects of Alter Domus’ work, support its business and its internal functions.

The successful candidate will be reporting to the Head of Legal - Commercial & Client Services.

Your responsibilities

Operate as primary point of contact for the business in all EMEA common-law jurisdictions, to assist or advise on matters of regulatory, corporate/commercial and contract law. Support the Legal department in:

drafting and updating legal documentation, including standard services agreements, intra-group and outsourcing agreements and other types of commercial contracts including vendor contracts; management of legal risk and advising on legislative and regulatory changes affecting the business’ service offering; ensuring compliance with internal policies, procedures and standards as well as Alter Domus’ contracting process; and contributing to knowledge management, training and legal updates.

Assist the business in:

participating to formal responses to client queries in support of operational teams; advising operational teams on the legal consequences of corporate and commercial documents; and acting as trusted advisor to Alter Domus’ senior management and internal support functions.

Lead negotiations for a broad range of complex services agreements and commercial contracts with strategic clients or suppliers. Advise on legal aspects of corporate transactions, manage external counsel and assist with understanding legal risk and corporate governance. Conduct legal research and analysis on a wide range of issues to inform decision making and integrate into actionable recommendations for senior management and teams.

Your profile

Qualified solicitor in England & Wales. 4 to 6 years relevant post-qualification experience, preferably in-house in an international environment. Strong background in corporate and commercial law, and demonstrable experience in the Financial Services industry and its regulatory environment. Proven track record of commercial contract drafting negotiation. Legal risk awareness and ability to work collaboratively with the business to deliver pragmatic outcome-focused solutions to legal issues, without compromising on Alter Domus’ policies, protection and values. High ethical standards and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality. Experience in using legal technology platforms. Excellent command of English and ability to present views clearly, concisely, and accurately to a wide array of audiences. Willingness to progress and ability to develop expertise in new technical areas to consistently high standards.
