About the Role

We are seeking a Manager of Logistics – Carrier Management to join our team. As a key strategic leader, you will help shape and execute Carrier Management strategies aligned with TJX Europe’s Logistics and Distribution goals.

Reporting to the AVP, Head of Carrier Management, your role spans Europe and involves managing a supplier portfolio valued at approximately £300M across 10 suppliers, with strategic alignment to global partnerships where necessary.


Key Responsibilities

  • Market & Trend Analysis: Conduct continuous analysis of logistics trends, carrier capabilities, pricing benchmarks, emerging technologies, and sustainability initiatives to inform decision-making.
  • Strategy Development: Define Carrier Management strategies to enhance cost efficiency, service reliability, and sustainability in support of TJX Europe’s objectives.
  • Collaboration & Alignment: Partner with Logistics Operations, Customs, Strategy & Analytics, Distribution Finance, Legal, and Global Sourcing & Procurement to establish, measure, and optimise performance against critical metrics.
  • Carrier Segmentation & Strategy: Segment carriers by service type, geographic coverage, and strategic importance, tailoring approaches for core and non-core providers.
  • Relationship Building: Cultivate strong internal and external relationships to drive innovation, continuous improvement, and business performance.
  • Contract & Agreement Management: Negotiate contracts and multi-year agreements to ensure stability, predictability, and value-for-money for TJX Europe.
  • Risk & Resilience: Assess carrier financial health and operational resilience, manage risks, and develop contingency plans for disruptions.
  • Performance Measurement: Develop and implement scorecards and dashboards to track carrier performance, conducting regular reviews to optimise service levels.
  • ESG Integration: Incorporate Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) criteria into supplier selection and evaluation processes while ensuring compliance with regional regulations and TJX Europe’s standards.
  • Benchmarking & Renegotiation: Benchmark carrier rates, lead contract reviews, and initiate strategic renegotiations as required.
  • Leadership Contribution: As part of the Logistics Leadership Team, contribute to functional planning, talent development, performance management, and objective setting.

Proven experience with:

  • Leading teams within Logistics, Distribution, or Supply Chain operations.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into business-focused outcomes.
  • Expertise in tender processes, supplier negotiations, and contract management.
  • Leadership aptitude, with the ability to motivate teams, coach stakeholders, and influence outcomes.
  • Exceptional communication skills, effective at engaging stakeholders across all levels.
  • Ability to make balanced, high-stakes decisions, factoring in risk, business impact, and commercial objectives.
  • Adaptability to thrive in fast-paced environments, demonstrating self-awareness and agility.
  • Strong relationship-building and influencing skills across key business partners.
