Manager of Product Design @ Synthesia

The Role: Manager of Product Design
Are you an outcome-driven design leader ready to elevate Synthesia’s impact? We’re seeking a strategic thinker and hands-on collaborator to guide our high-quality Product Design team. You’ll define a next-generation generative AI product, ensuring exceptional user experiences while fostering a culture of growth, creative rigor, and excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and own Design direction for all products, ensuring a cohesive visual language and intuitive user experience.
- Develop and maintain world-class Design systems that reflect Synthesia’s mission, values, and brand identity.
- Coach and mentor a high-performing team, enabling career growth through actionable feedback and growth plans.
- Partner with VP of Product and Director of Product Design to optimise the Design team’s structure, processes, and evolving culture.
- Build relationships with stakeholders, identifying future Design investment opportunities to drive product innovation.
- Position Design as a strategic differentiator, prioritising simplicity, delightfulness, and memorability.
- Redefine the paradigm of video creation by leveraging cutting-edge generative AI technologies.
- Precisely articulate and share Synthesia’s brand vision and ensure it influences design excellence.

- Proven track record designing scalable, impactful digital products and Design systems.
- Expertise in business-critical design—balancing aesthetic refinement with strategic intent.
- Experience leading mid-to-large Product Design teams, fostering environments where talent thrives.
- Passion for career development—abilities to build trusting relationships while inspiring teams to reach their potential.
- Broad knowledge of Design principles including systems thinking, usability, visual design, and collaboration.
- A growth mindset, innate curiosity, and a willingness to embrace ambiguity—you should enjoy tackling complex challenges head-on.
