Job title: Manager on Duty

Location: Broadstone

Employment type: Full-time

Working hours: 40 Hours per week (Monday – Sunday) (including bank holidays)

Salary: £29,000.00 – £29,865.00 per annum

About The Position

We are looking for a Manager on Duty to join our team, to support management in the delivery of the Junction’s operational activities/services, as well as other YMCA sites as required, ensuring delivery is always professional and friendly. As part of the role, you will work within the sports and leisure department, ensuring the day-to-day operations of the centre run smoothly. You will correctly record and follow the manager on duty checklist, adhering to YMCA Bournemouth policies and systems. A rota basis is set in place for the manager on duty team.

This Role Will Involve

  • Acting as point of contact during shifts, ensuring safe and efficient operations
  • Supervising and supporting staff, including lifeguards and receptionists
  • Delivering outstanding customer service and handling enquiries, feedback and complaints professionally
  • Ensuring all health and safety procedures are followed, including emergency response where required
  • Monitoring facilities cleanliness, equipment maintenance and overall presentation

Qualifications And Experience

  • National pool lifeguard qualification (desired)
  • Knowledge of leisure management systems (desired)
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or duty management role (leisure preferred) (desired)

Additional Information

The role has a statutory, occupational requirement to ensure the safety and welfare of all children, young people and adults at risk that they may come across using our services. The post holder will take responsibility for ensuring safeguarding children, young people and adults at risk as a priority and follow both YMCA Bournemouth safeguarding policy and BCP Safeguarding Children Partnership and Dorset Safeguarding Children Partnership statutory guidance.

Employment will be subject to satisfactory references, right to work checks and a Disclosure and Barring Service check. If the role involves regulated activity with children or adults at risk, your employment will be subject to an Enhanced level DBS check prior to commencement date. All other applicable roles will be subject to a Basic level DBS check prior to commencement date.
