The role
We are recruiting for a strong Private Client Tax Assistant Manager or Manager to join our International Private Client tax in London.
The role is primarily focused on the provision of high-quality personal tax compliance but also includes the provision of tax advice over the course of the year for our varied and complex client base.
You will work with a varied portfolio of clients whose affairs are often complex and international in scope, including:
- High and ultra-high net worth individuals
- Long term residents and internationally mobile clients
- Multi-jurisdictional structures, including UK and offshore trusts
- Partnerships
Our clients include high and ultra-high net worth individuals, non-domiciled clients and those with complex cross border tax considerations, UK and offshore trusts, and partnerships.
This position offers the opportunity to work closely with experienced senior managers, directors and partners and to learn from them to support a diverse client portfolio.
The Responsibilities
- You will be responsible for the delivery of all aspects of the tax compliance cycle on a timely basis on your client portfolio
- You will prepare tax returns for complex and varied client base
- You will prepare written correspondence for clients and deal with HM Revenue & Customs in connection with the clients’ affairs
- You will have the opportunity to correspond directly with clients, family office representatives and other key stakeholders and you will attend client meetings
- You will work with managers, senior managers, directors and partners to deliver tax advice and tax planning for clients
- You will be responsible for monitoring WIPs and budgets, ensuring work is billed on completion and ensuring debts are chased

The team
The International Private Client team is headed up by five partners who bring a wealth of experience in looking after a varied client base including those with complex cross-border tax considerations. The team of 30 staff all work closely together to deliver high quality tax compliance and advisory services to our complex and varied client base.
You
A successful candidate should have the following characteristics and skills:
- ATT and/or CTA qualified
- A positive and enthusiastic attitude
- A high level of motivation, ability and commitment
- Experience of management as they will be managing their own portfolio whilst also being responsible for overseeing and reviewing the work of more junior tax staff
- Experienced in the delivery and management of personal tax compliance services
- Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills are essential to ensure all deadlines are met
- Experience in the provision of tax advice covering income tax, capital gains tax and inheritance tax. The exact mix of advisory will be tailored to the strengths of the individual, but a broad base across all tax areas is sought after
- Experience in working with clients with international considerations, examples of which may include the FIG regime, former remittance basis users, statutory residence test, tax treaty issues, cross-border business and investments, and/or offshore trusts
- From a professional services background
- Confident communicator to colleagues, partners and clients
- Comfortable working on their own initiative as well as being a good team player
- High attention to detail and the ability to work in a timely manner
- Excellent IT skills

- A 35-hour working week with a hybrid working policy with the flexibility to work from home for up to three days per week (our core hours are 10-4)
