Job Description

Please note that this role is based in the United Kingdom. To enable us to meet the statutory and regulatory obligations of the United Kingdom immigration system, you must have the appropriate immigration permission needed to work and reside in the United Kingdom for the duration of the employment.

Sony Pictures Television’s Research department is a global team with staff in the US, Europe, Asia Pacific and Latin America. The team is responsible for supporting SPT’s channels, content distribution and international production businesses with market and audience-based quantitative and qualitative research, across all international territories for all television platforms.

This position plays a key role in providing strategic analysis to Sony’s businesses in the Europe, Middle East and Africa region and highlights the growing importance of data-driven insights within the organisation. Based in London, the position will be vital in connecting the Nordics, Netherlands, and Belgium business with regional and global Landscape and Audience trends. It will be heavily involved in all strategic initiatives for those markets – contributing the voice of audiences and a data-driven perspective for the future of the industry.

Collaborating with other Research colleagues in the region and other functions within SPT will be fundamental to success, ensuring research is used effectively in driving decision making, influencing external client and vendor relationships.

The role will be working across projects involving:

  • Consumer behaviour
  • Landscape trends
  • Linear and digital direct-to-consumer brands
  • Transactional and subscription models
  • Local content productions
  • Large content licensing agreements

What you'll do:

  • Lead the development of innovative research that directly drives content licensing sales for TV Series and Feature Films across the Nordics, Netherlands, and Belgium markets, focusing on high-impact pitch materials and client engagement tactics linked to major sales events.
  • Strategically collaborate with Commercial, Marketing and Research colleagues to integrate and leverage consumer trends influencing physical and digital retail sales for SPT.
  • Own delivery of key research projects, utilising and combining primary and third-party data sources.
  • Shape strategies and tactics that take the business forward, combining expertise of both the industry landscape and audience behaviours.
  • Operate with a high degree of autonomy, serving as the local expert within the EMEA business, facilitating the exchange of industry insights across the EMEA region and globally.
  • Lead impactful communication initiatives with colleagues, key clients, and external partners that maximize the value of research.
  • Outcomes include a strong contextual understanding across all internal stakeholders, positively impacting strategy development for the business, and external connections that improve partnerships and relations with key clients.
  • Play a major role in coaching and developing junior colleagues within the Research team.
  • Forge new and strengthen existing relationships with internal business partners, stakeholders, third-party suppliers, and industry peers.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
