About the Role
This role is part of Expedia Group’s Corporate Functions, which support global operations—including Global Finance, Legal, Strategy & Corporate Development, Technology, and People & Places.
As Manager, Risk & Compliance (B2B Business), you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance, risk mitigation, and operational excellence across Expedia Group’s B2B division. Reporting directly to the leads for Corporate Compliance, this position will:
- Meet high standards for compliance and align with global policies.
- Act as a trusted business advisor to operational teams, offering guidance on risk, processes, contracts, and controls.
- Oversee third-party audits, making us a key liaison when external reviews occur.
- Drive continuous improvement through risk assessments, audits, and policy refinements.
Key Responsibilities
Risk & Compliance Program Leadership
- Manage the daily activities of Expedia Group’s B2B Risk & Compliance Program, including compliance monitoring and oversight.
- Design, implement, and evaluate internal controls with tooling and reporting mechanisms.
- Collaborate with stakeholders (Commercial Finance, Technology, Product) to identify, mitigate, and escalate risks (operational, regulatory, reputational).
Partner & Audit Management
- Support B2B audits by coordinating logistics, scheduling, and follow-up.
- Interpret and advise on contracts while ensuring they reflect regulatory and operational best practices.
- Audit B2B business units to safeguard Expedia Group’s interests and ensure NZA compliance.

Risk Governance & Strategy
- Maintain and update the B2B risk register, tracking risks, mitigations, and escalations.
- Align B2B risk management efforts with conditional enterprise risk frameworks across Expedia Group.
- Develop and execute strategies to build resilience across all commercial and technical partnerships.
Process & Policy Improvement
- Partner with business owners to create workflows, detect non-compliance, and enhance policies.
- Review business practices against current policies, recommending adjustments to support new operational goals.
- Monitor new partner agreements to ensure adherence to Expedia Group’s compliance standards.
- Develop and maintain training and compliance documents for third-party partners.
Internal Controls & Communication
- Monitor compliance-related controls, troubleshoot issues, and ensure accountability.
- Communicate up and down the organization, presenting clear, audience-tailored messages to stakeholders, partners, and leadership.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration, aligning teams with wider risk and compliance initiatives.
Experience & Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in risk management, compliance, finance, law, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of experience in audit, compliance, risk management, or process improvement in a corporate environment.
- Experience managing internal controls and identifying/correcting risks to business operations.
- Background in commercial or partnership-facing roles preferred.
Technical & Soft Skills
- People management skills to effectively lead and influence cross-functional teams.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity under pressure while maintaining professionalism and solution-driven thinking.
- Project management acumen (certifications a plus).
- Subject-matter expertise in data security (ISO 27001, SOC2), GDPR/RIL, and financial regulations (preferred).
- Hands-on experience interfacing with external commercial partners in complex environments.
- Adept at analyzing business practices and developing process improvements.
Location & Remuneration
- Eligible Locations: London, UK or Madrid, Spain
- Flexible work requirement: Must be on-site for a minimum of three days per week.
- No relocation assistance offered for this role.
- Salaries:
- Madrid: Base salary range €53,000–€74,500 annually, with potential to advance to €85,000 based on performance.
- Start salary variable depending on location and individual qualifications.
