Data Platform Architecture & Engineering Consultant – AI & Data Transformation

We’re seeking changemakers with hands-on AI development experience—individuals who not only master the technology but can bridge it to transformative business impact. You’ll help organisations build, scale, and embed AI capabilities from strategy to execution.
YOUR ROLE
This hybrid role sits at the intersection of strategy, innovation, and delivery, perfect for problem-solving architects.
Core Responsibilities
You will lead end-to-end solutions across:

DESIGN
- Architect next-generation data, analytics, and AI platforms that are scalable, secure, and cost-efficient, leveraging cloud-native technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Shape enterprise data platform visions, roadmaps, and stakeholder communication plans using frameworks like TOGAF and DAMA.

ENABLE & TRANSFORM
- Implement modern hybrid cloud architectures (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery) and migrate legacy systems to cloud-native solutions, boosting agility.
- Develop Proof of Concepts (PoCs) and Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) for AI-driven data solutions, aligning with business objectives.

AUTOMATE & OPTIMISE
- Build and optimise data pipelines, infrastructure provisioning, and CI/CD deployments using DevOps practices and tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC).
- Drive operational excellence with automated workflows for speed and reliability.

ADVISE & DELIVER THROUGH DESIGN
- Champion user-centric design stories for compelling platform solutions.
- Curate knowledge-sharing through whitepapers, internal campaigns, and pitch contributions.

Business & Growth Opportunities
Beyond client work, you’ll contribute to: ✅ Business Development – Leading proposals, RFPs, and client pitches (e.g., UK Public Sector, BFSI, CPRD). ✅ Internal Innovation – Developing thought leadership, practice templates, and offering enhancements. ✅ Learning & Development – Access to certifications (DAMA, cloud), training programs, and bespoke upskilling at Capgemini’s Data Academy.

YOUR PROFILE
We’re looking for strategic visionaries with technical depth, capable of balancing advisory leadership and hands-on AI implementation.

Foundational Requirements

Strategic Mindset & Problem-Solving
- Growth mindset with a curiosity-driven approach to learning and experimentation.
- Strong analytical skills to structure complex challenges into actionable plans.

Consulting & Leadership
- 10+ years in data, AI, or analytics architecture, with senior consulting experience.
- Proven ability to lead projects, scope budgets, and manage client relationships.

Cloud & Data Engineering Excellency
- 6+ years designing cloud-based data platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and modern data solutions (Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery).
- Expertise in ETL/ELT processes, Data Mesh/Fabric patterns, and legacy-to-cloud migrations.

Infrastructure & Automation Mastery
- Intermediate-level cloud certifications (min. 3) and hands-on IaC (e.g., Terraform, ARM Templates).
- Proficiency in DevOps practices, security/identity management, and Azure AD/GCP IAM.

Hybrid Role Requirements
- Tech expertise with AI/ML architecture (e.g., Agentic AI, enterprise architecture).
- Fluency with hybrid cloud security (GDPR, SOC2,Azure Private Link), cost optimisation, and Agile methodologies.
Desirable Traits
- Security Clearance: SC status or eligibility.
- Industry Experience: Primarily UK Public Sector, banking (BFSI), or retail (CPRD) preferred.
- Innovative Mindset: Track record of agile leadership and experimenting with AI tools.
