Job Purpose
We are looking for an experienced social and content professional to join UK Finance’s Corporate Affairs team on a 12-month fixed-term contract (maternity cover).
You’ll develop and commission content for internal and external audiences, using analytics to inform your approach. Working closely with colleagues across the organisation, you’ll translate complex policy and industry topics into accessible, compelling stories - often at pace.
You’ll lead our social media approach; setting direction, planning content, and ensuring we use each channel appropriately, confidently and creatively for our audiences.
The role is hybrid with 2 days in our London office each week.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the strategy, planning and delivery of high-quality content across UK Finance’s internal and external social channels.
- Own and maintain a content calendar to ensure timely, coordinated messaging across Corporate Affairs and the wider organisation.
- Provide internal communications and social media advice to colleagues across UK Finance, helping teams plan content and deliver strong outcomes.
- Manage reactive news content for social and internal channels, spotting opportunities to increase reach and engagement.
- Develop content to support the Chief Executive’s communications, including internal updates to colleagues, our internal Town Hall meetings and LinkedIn activity.
- Monitor performance and evaluate the effectiveness of channels and content, using insight to refine our approach.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
