Manager, Supply Chain and Operations - Procurement

About the Role

EY’s Procurement Transformation consulting team collaborates closely with some of the world’s leading organisations to enhance and scale their procurement capabilities. The role focuses on supporting clients to navigate global uncertainty, volatility, and risks within supply chain and operations, ensuring resilience and efficiency.

This position is perfect for experienced procurement professionals looking to grow within a high-performing, inclusive team. Responsibilities include key projects and engagement across industries and the full procurement lifecycle, leveraging cutting-edge technology, innovative methodologies, and strong client relationships.


The Opportunity

Your role will give you the chance to:

  • Contribute to a broad spectrum of client projects, working across industries and span the entire procurement lifecycle. Key focus areas include:
    • Delivering high-value strategic sourcing projects, including identifying and onboarding critical suppliers for large-scale projects.
    • Collaborating with business stakeholders and suppliers to refine category strategies that align with organisational needs and leverage market best practice.
    • Conducting data-driven spend assessments to uncover cost savings opportunities, implementing projects that improve spend management.
    • Addressing supply chain disruptions and supplier performance issues, embedding leading practice in contract and supplier management.
    • Operational model reviews, driving enhancements in procurement efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Formal and informal procurement training, equipping internal client teams with essential skills to drive better procurement outcomes.
    • Implementing leading procurement technologies, such as Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and Artificial Intelligence (AI).

In collaboration with cross-functional teams from Consulting, People and Technology, your projects will build your leadership, management, and technical procurement expertise. You will engage closely with senior stakeholders and gain exposure to the latest in procurement innovation.

Your Key Responsibilities

Focus on Clients

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, becoming a trusted advisor for procurement and broader commercial operations.
  • Leverage problem-solving skills to steward critical projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and with high quality.
  • Cultivate long-term client relationships while staying focused on immediate project delivery needs.

Drive Operational Excellence

  • Ensure high standards across all projects, delivering results that exceed client expectations using rigorous process management.
  • Adhere to agreed project scopes, timelines, and budgets.

Develop Our People

  • Cultivate inclusive leadership, fostering high-performing, diverse teams that drive engagement and performance.
  • Provide mentoring and coaching to junior consultants and client stakeholders to foster skill development.
  • Help mentor and support team members with personal growth, ensuring they build effective procurement capabilities.

Develop Our Business

  • Research emerging strategies and methodologies to shape EY’s leading procurement practices.
  • Contribute to internal training programs, refining consulting capabilities among team members.
  • Develop and share proposals showcasing leading practices amongst clients and partners.

Your Experience

Managers at EY excel from a blend of industry experience in procurement, showcasing technical and managerial acumen. While consulting background is preferred, leadership in driving business change within fast-paced environments is essential.

Minimum requirements:

  • Five years or more in procurement, with a robust track record managing complex projects and internal initiatives.
  • Strong analytical skills, proving the ability to extract insightful business recommendations from diverse data sources.
  • Experience influencing internal and external stakeholders across multiple levels of business.
  • Ability to manage diverse, skilled teams, pairing expertise with mentorship and effective coaching.
  • Demonstrate capability to create and communicate actionable insights through well-structured reports and presentations.
