About the role

Corporate & Commercial Banking is a growing part of Coventry Building Society Group, focused on building long-term relationships with corporate clients and delivering sustainable growth in line with our values.

The role holder will play a key role in managing and developing a portfolio of corporate clients, structuring and delivering complex lending solutions while working closely with Risk, Legal and Product teams. The position plays a key role in building relationships with clients, advisers and introducers, generating new business opportunities and delivering outcomes that balance customer needs, risk and return.

Working across the Group, the person in post will help drive business growth while acting as an ambassador for Coventry Building Society Group, combining commercial judgement with a collaborative and relationship-led approach.

We operate on a team-led hybrid approach with either Coventry or Manchester as your home office. This role involves occasional UK-wide travel to meet clients and represent the business in the market where appropriate.

About you

You'll be naturally organised and a problem solver who is comfortable operating at a senior level and building trusted, long-term relationships. With strong commercial awareness and sound judgement, you'll enjoy working through complex situations, balancing risk and opportunity, and delivering positive outcomes for clients and the Society.

For this role you’ll need to have:

  • Relationship management experience within Corporate or Commercial Banking.
  • Strong corporate credit skills, including complex lending transactions.
  • Ability to assess and manage risk effectively.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to simplify complex information and influence decision-making.
  • Strong customer focus, negotiation skills and commercial awareness.
  • Willingness to travel to customer locations as required.

Experience in these areas would be helpful:

  • Experience of syndicated lending transactions.
  • Knowledge of specific sectors, broad financial industry knowledge and ESG, or a desire to develop expertise.
  • Good at navigating credit and operational processes.
  • A proactive, growth-focused mindset with a willingness to learn.

Full Time - 35 hours
