Managing Director
What you'll be doing?
Reporting to the Regional Managing Director, the Managing Director will lead and manage the performance and operations of a Division to grow the business by increasing profitability and improving the Company’s reputation as a leading house builder.
You will be expected to:
- Lead, inspire and shape a high-performing Divisional team that have capacity, capability and diversity, are well-directed, with clear guidelines to their own job responsibilities, and are provided with full support in achieving these, in terms of communication, training and development, and the organisation of the Division’s workload.
- Role-model exceptional leadership and people management, leveraging HR processes, tools and practices to establish a high-performance culture, raise standards, ensure engagement and consistently exceed expectations.
- Prepare and implement a sustainable growth plan (rolling 3 years) for the Division. Monitor performance to achieve objectives as cost effectively and efficiently as possible.
- Lead and take accountability for the attainment of KPI’s in relation to profit, operating margin, customer satisfaction, sustainability, land acquisition, legal completions and build quality.
- Manage and monitor performance within the Division, reporting and providing information as appropriate to the Regional Managing Director and the Divisional Board in line with the standard business processes.
- Design and implement an effective PR Strategy within the parameters set by the Group/Regional MD, to promote the products and image of the company in the community.
- Champion a focus on customer service excellence and build quality that enhances the reputation of the Company and increases profitability; ensure that the Division positively contributes to reaching the standards/targets set by the Group.
- Represent the company in negotiations with key suppliers, government departments and other key partners to secure the most effective terms, relationships and reputation.
- Promote and take accountability to ensure full use of, systems, policies, procedures and governance frameworks to effectively protect the Company and our customers, mitigating risk and ensuring compliance, including but not limited to building, health & Safety and environment regulations and standards and policies on land acquisition.

What You’ll Need
To be successful in the role, we are looking for:
- A successful track record in similar senior role within the industry or a major blue-chip company.
- In depth knowledge and understanding of business drivers/competition and issues facing the industry, the local/national economic and political environment and the impact of all on business success.
- The individual to be highly numerate, with the ability to interpret and utilise economic, financial and industry data.
- A proven strategic and performance leadership capability; able to initiate and lead change; delivers tangible results; demonstrates toughness under pressure and a competitive spirit.
- An individual who communicates with impact and clarity; builds effective and supportive working relationships.
- A strong people leader; involves and empowers others; coaches and mentors within and outside of own team; invests in own development.
- A candidate that has proven record of developing team members and bringing teams together to drive volume and deliver excellence.
