Managing Director – UK & Ireland
Driving Growth Across the Energy Network Sector
We are seeking an exceptional commercial leader to lead a UK & Ireland business through its next phase of growth. This is a high-profile leadership opportunity for an ambitious, results-driven executive with a proven track record of securing and growing strategic relationships with Distribution Network Operators (DNOs), Transmission System Operators (TSOs), and major infrastructure organisations.
Reporting directly to the executive leadership team, the Managing Director will take full ownership of regional growth, revenue generation, customer engagement, and market expansion. The successful candidate will be a natural hunter, relationship builder, and strategic leader, capable of navigating complex utility environments and converting market opportunities into significant commercial outcomes.
This is not a traditional operational leadership role. It is a growth mandate.
The Opportunity
The UK and Ireland energy sector is undergoing unprecedented transformation. Network operators face increasing pressure to deliver greater capacity, accommodate renewable generation, support electrification, and improve system resilience.
As Managing Director, you will position the business at the centre of these challenges, developing executive-level relationships with DNOs and TSOs, influencing investment decisions, and creating opportunities that deliver tangible value to customers and stakeholders alike.
You will be expected to identify, shape, and secure major commercial opportunities while building a sustainable pipeline capable of supporting ambitious growth targets.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Leadership
- Develop and execute the UK & Ireland growth strategy.
- Deliver ambitious revenue and profitability targets.
- Create and maintain a robust pipeline of strategic opportunities across DNOs, TSOs, and related utility organisations.
- Lead complex sales campaigns from qualification through to contract award.
- Drive market penetration and establish long-term customer relationships.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
