About the Opportunity
Our client is a well-established and growing food manufacturer with an excellent reputation for quality, innovation, and customer service. Supplying leading retail and foodservice customers across the UK and Ireland, the business is entering an exciting phase of growth and is seeking an experienced Managing Director to lead the next stage of its journey.
This is a rare opportunity to take full responsibility for a successful manufacturing business, providing strategic leadership while remaining closely connected to the day-to-day operation.
The Role
Reporting to the business owner, you will lead the organization across all operational and commercial functions, ensuring the business continues to deliver exceptional service, operational excellence, and sustainable growth.
This role will suit an experienced food manufacturing leader who enjoys building high-performing teams, driving continuous improvement, and creating a culture of accountability and engagement.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the overall performance of the business, ensuring operational and commercial objectives are achieved.
- Develop and implement the business strategy alongside the owner and senior leadership team.
- Drive operational excellence across production, technical, engineering, supply chain, and commercial functions.
- Build, develop, and inspire high-performing teams throughout the organization.
- Strengthen relationships with key retail and foodservice customers.
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency, and profitability.
- Champion food safety, quality, health & safety, and customer service standards.
- Deliver a culture of continuous improvement across all areas of the business.
- Manage budgets, financial performance, and business KPIs.
- Represent the business with customers, suppliers, and key stakeholders.

About You
We're looking for an experienced senior leader with:
- Significant leadership experience within food manufacturing.
- A strong background in chilled and high-care manufacturing.
- Experience leading large manufacturing operations.
- Strong commercial awareness with experience managing budgets and business performance.
- A proven ability to develop people and build high-performing teams.
- Experience working with major retail and/or foodservice customers.
- A collaborative leadership style with excellent communication skills.
- A passion for continuous improvement and operational excellence.
