Managing Director – BLE Smoke and Fire Curtains
Location: Sheffield Employer: Lowe and Fletcher Group
Established in 1889, the Lowe and Fletcher Group employs over 1,000 people across its Locking Systems and Fire Systems Divisions. With a focus on growth, innovation, and market-leading solutions, we are seeking an exceptional Managing Director for our BLE Smoke and Fire Curtains organisation.
About the Fire Systems Division
The Fire Safety Division designs, sources, supplies, installs, and maintains fire and smoke curtains for the business-to-business sector. It comprises three companies, one of which is BLE Smoke and Fire Curtains Ltd.
BLE’s unique position:
- Specialises in gravity-fail-safe smoke and fire curtains
- Integrates latest electronic technology and product certification
- Preferred by designers, architects, and engineers
- Strong product pipeline with new releases driving growth

The Role
Key Objectives
Your strategic focus will be on:
- Oversight and support for BLE Smoke and Fire Curtains’ growth
- Maximising revenue in current and emerging markets
- Product development and launch of innovative solutions
- Strengthening distributor partnerships
- Optimising margins and overall profitability
- Enhancing the BLE brand
Core Responsibilities
- Develop a profit-driven growth strategy in alignment with the Group Managing Director (Fire Safety Division)
- Execute strategy clearly, cohesively, and decisively across all departments
- Set and achieve annual budgets
- Provide timely, accurate monthly reporting to the Fire Safety Division leadership
- Build and maintain an effective management team
- Foster ** exceptional customer and supplier relationships**

Essential Requirements
- Proven experience in leading complex assembly businesses
- Ideal prior experience: selling at the construction project specification stage
- Commercial acumen with a focus on profitability and expansion
