Exciting opportunity for a Managing Director - Financial Institutions Credit to join a leading UK Bank in London
The Opportunity
This role offers a rare opportunity to operate at the highest level of credit governance, providing independent judgement across a broad Financial Institutions (FI) portfolio, while helping shape the future direction of the platform.
Sitting alongside FI Credit Sector Heads, you will provide horizontal sanctioning authority, ensuring consistency, discipline, and robust decision-making across all FI sectors.
Key Responsibilities
Credit Leadership & Sanctioning
Act as a senior sanctioner across all FI sectors, exercising delegated authority on: New transactions Renewals and amendments Complex restructurings Provide independent judgement and constructive challenge to support sustainable growth Lead complex credit discussions across: Lending Structured finance Derivatives and traded products Portfolio & Strategy

Exciting opportunity for a Managing Director - Financial Institutions Credit to join a leading UK Bank in London
Candidate Profile
We are seeking an experienced FI credit leader with:
Extensive Financial Institutions Credit experience, ideally across multiple sectors (e.g. Banks, Insurance, Asset Managers, Funds, Sovereigns) A strong track record as a credit sanctioner with meaningful delegated authority Experience in complex credit environments, including structured transactions and derivatives Proven ability to operate effectively at senior governance and committee level Strong strategic and portfolio management capability Experience shaping or enhancing credit frameworks, policies, or processes Credibility and confidence to challenge senior stakeholders constructively A collaborative, commercially aware approach with excellent communication skills A genuine commitment to developing talent and building high-performing teams
