Role Overview
Chatham Financial is seeking a senior European leader/Advisor dedicated to FX fund-level risk management advisory. This individual will partner with Private Equity, Infrastructure, Real Estate, and Private Debt fund managers to design, implement, and scale tailored FX risk management programs at the fund level.
This is a senior, entrepreneurial leadership role combining technical excellence, commercial ownership, and platform-building capability. The position sits at the intersection of advisory, execution, origination, and strategic growth within a business that has experienced significant expansion over the past five years and presents substantial opportunity across Europe.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in shaping the long-term European strategy for fund-level FX advisory, working closely with Chatham’s FX execution team to deliver seamless advisory-to-execution solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Client Advisory & Program Design
- Lead complex advisory engagements focused on fund-level FX risk management frameworks
- Design bespoke FX hedging strategies aligned with fund structures and investor objectives
- Advise on governance frameworks, policy design, and best practices
- Provide technical analysis on hedging structures, tenor optimization, liquidity management, and balance sheet implications
- Advise clients on NAV hedging, cashflow hedging, capital call facilities, and cross-border structuring considerations
Business Development & Commercial Leadership
- Lead and support pitching efforts across PE, Infrastructure, Real Estate, and Private Debt funds
- Respond to RFPs and formal tenders
- Develop and maintain senior relationships with CFOs, CIOs, treasury teams, and investment professionals
- Identify cross-sell and mandate expansion opportunities across existing client relationships
- Contribute to market positioning and thought leadership in FX fund advisory
- Represent Chatham at industry events and conferences

Commercial Accountability
- Take ownership of revenue growth and profitability of the European fund-level FX advisory platform
- Maintain a robust pipeline of opportunities and provide forecasting visibility
- Contribute to annual planning and strategic budgeting
Strategic Technology & Innovation
- Help define and articulate the long-term vision and strategic roadmap for Chatham’s fund-specific FX technology solutions, ensuring alignment with evolving client needs, regulatory developments, market evolution, and broader business strategy
- Monitor competitive technology offerings, changing client requirements, and industry best practices to inform ongoing innovation, product development, and continuous improvement of the fund-level FX advisory platform
Execution Collaboration
- Partner closely with the dedicated FX execution team to ensure efficient and high-quality transaction delivery
- Oversee implementation of advisory mandates
- Ensure alignment between strategic advisory recommendations and market execution
- Support seamless client experience from advisory design through transaction lifecycle
Platform Strategy, European Growth & Cross-Platform Collaboration
- Define and drive the European growth strategy for fund-level FX advisory
- Identify priority client segments, geographic expansion opportunities, and scalable revenue initiatives across Private Equity, Infrastructure, Real Estate, and Private Debt
- Contribute to scaling the European FX advisory franchise through platform development, internal coordination, and disciplined go-to-market execution
- Act as a strategic bridge between FX advisory and:
- Fund Finance origination within the Investment Banking team
- Broader Solutions and Client Engagement teams
- FX execution to ensure full alignment across advisory and transaction delivery
- Identify and develop cross-platform synergies and integrated client solutions that leverage Chatham’s full advisory capabilities
- Drive consistency of messaging, market positioning, and client engagement strategy across teams
- Represent Chatham externally as a senior voice in the fund-level FX market

Team Development & Capability Building
- Train and mentor junior professionals on fund-level FX concepts and advisory methodologies
- Help formalize internal knowledge frameworks, tools, and best practices
- Contribute to recruiting, onboarding, and capability expansion as the platform grows
Candidate Profile
Experience
- 8–15+ years of relevant experience in:
- FX fund advisory
- Bank FX structuring
- Treasury advisory
Strong Understanding Of
- FX derivatives (forwards, swaps, options)
- Fund structures (closed-end, open-ended, capital call mechanics)
- LP/GP dynamics
- NAV hedging vs. cashflow hedging approaches
Additional Desirable Experience
- Demonstrated experience building or scaling a platform
- Established network within European PE, Infrastructure, Real Estate, or Private Debt communities
- Proven track record of pitching and originating business
Technical Skills
- Deep knowledge of FX markets and advanced risk management techniques
- Ability to design complex hedging programs across fund structures
- Strong quantitative and analytical capabilities
- Comfort with modelling, scenario analysis, and risk optimization
- Strategic understanding of technology-enabled advisory solutions
