The Firm
Ladd & Co. is a private advisory firm advising entrepreneurs, principals, and multi-generational families on mergers and acquisitions, capital placement, co-investment, and international structuring. The firm operates across New York, Palm Beach, George Town, London, Zürich, Dubai, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Sydney.
Why This Role Exists
Financial services in the UK and Europe is consolidating. Wealth managers, insurance brokers, lenders, and fintech founders are all transacting, and most are doing it without senior independent counsel. We are appointing a Managing Director in London to cover that market for the firm.
The Mandate
Origination. You identify the situation early, the founder weighing an exit, the brokerage rolling up competitors, the lender refinancing, the fintech raising, and you bring the firm in to execute it. Structuring, valuation, documentation, investor access, and negotiation are carried by the firm's teams; you stay senior and client-facing. The platform behind you covers eighteen mandate types; in FIG the recurring ones are Business Sale, Acquisition, Consolidation, Capital Raise, and Management Buyout.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
