Managing Quantity Surveyor – Water / Civil Engineering

Durham | Permanent

We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Managing Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial delivery across water industry and civil engineering projects within a drainage and wastewater network environment.

This is a senior commercial role suited to someone who can protect margin, cash flow and contractual compliance, while developing a QS team and building strong relationships with delivery teams, clients and supply chain partners.

You will lead commercial management across live projects, overseeing CVRs, forecasts, valuations, subcontract procurement, change control, final accounts and senior commercial input around programme, risk and recovery planning.

The strongest fit will have:

  • 10+ years’ commercial experience in civil engineering, infrastructure, utilities or water
  • Strong NEC target cost contract knowledge
  • Experience managing CVRs, forecasting, valuations and final accounts
  • Subcontract procurement and commercial control experience
  • Confidence mentoring Senior QSs, QSs and junior commercial staff
  • Water, wastewater, drainage, MEICA, ICA/SCADA, flood prevention or framework delivery experience would be a strong advantage
